Typically, a landman's job is to negotiate and finalize contracts with landowners with mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent Essentially, they manage the land and secure the leases, so they can drill oil and gas. Like a foreman on a construction site, they build out roads , workers living quarters (man-camp), oversee excavation machinery assembly and drilling of the well site itself especially in remote locations.

Landman is my first Taylor Sheridan series, so I don't have the expectations it seems come from being a Yellowstone fan.The main storyline so far is engaging and exciting without being too far-fetched. There are a couple of subplots that carry well throughout the episodes, but perhaps one of these compromises the overall quality of the show.
I'm sure you'll figure out which!The visual production is noteworthy; the direction and environmental creation is to be enjoyed
It would be interesting to get the view of people who work in the industry as to how realistic the field scenes are.The cast detail their characters well. Billy Bob Thornton is exemplary and really leads the show well.Overall a very good series, visually well executed and played superbly.

Plot

Costner seems to fit in naturally with his character. He’s a world-weary man who’s seen too much and lied too often. He hears footsteps approaching him, but can only fulfill his role out of habit, as much as a loyal glimpse into a slice of life in another world.
I’m raising my rating to „9”
I hope the resolution of this saga brings an emotional payoff that justifies its breadth and attention to detail. Update 7/20/18: After four episodes, the series has a strong voice and a steady rhythm. We get the full story of each story, from roots to fruit.

At it's base it's not a terrible movie, the problem is that the base consists of so many ideas and subjects that it's hard not to get lost in all of the mess.It's a critique of technological advance, AI, privacy & spyware, (experimental) surgeries and health, the Chinese, capitalism, rich people, modern society and so on and so on …
You can consider this movie a "so bad it's good" movie, at least that's how I see it, I certainly didn't suffer
The bad writing doesn't help either, the dialogue can be stupid or just straight up exposition, the story jumps between characters and plot lines in a sloppy way, and I know (or at least think) that some of the dialogue is self aware and doesn't take itself seriously, which made it corny, funny (the audience laughed from time to time) and honestly fun.
