Plot
It tells the story of three very different families vying to buy the exact same 1920s Spanish-style mansion that they believe will solve all their problems. When you look at the series from a narrative perspective, the pieces don’t fit together.
There were a lot of red herrings
We get so deep into each character’s backstory that the overall story doesn’t feel strong enough to stay on track. In the end, it all comes together.
There were some weak characters, both script-wise and acting-wise
The series would definitely be stronger without the ensemble cast. There are a lot of familiar faces, so I understand why they did that.
The best part by far
Some others seemed to struggle with the balance between comedy and drama. I think it’s time Netflix gave Linda Cardellini her own series.
